Midterm Project: Literature Design-Rug
I would say that the living room scene is now done, so I just need to focus on the text and background now.

Midterm Project: Literature Design-Couch
I started off with tracing my sketches with the pen tool.

I made sure every part was in its own separate layer so that I could organize them better and hide or lock the parts I did not want to mess with.

Once I had all the parts done, I used pictures of dirty couches and made clipping masks to give texture to the couch.
Every part, in my opinion, turned out pretty well, and now all that is left is to make the trash, carpet, and text.

Midterm Project: Literature Design: Proposal
My midterm project will be a poster. It will be modeled after a rock band tour
poster, but the event advertised will be a “festival” that consists of simply
sitting with me in my apartment watching tv.
Since it is based on a rock band tour poster, the subject matter will be
young people who want to have good time. The living room that will makeup the
poster, will be created in the sketchbook and scanned and tweaked in
illustrator and Photoshop. I am not very knowledgable of how to use photoshop, but I plan to use this assignment as a thorough practice in using it.
I've looked at a lot of rock band posters and I really enjoy the ones that do not take themselves too seriously, yet still are able to display intricate images. I especially liked the color scheme of the poster pictured below because it uses all cool colors with the bright yellow to contrast and make the masks and the hair really stand out. I possibly want to incorporate a similar scheme to mine.
